Drive over all the speed bumps, pass the carpark on the right, and drive right down to the turning point.
The Libertyouth camping area is in the field on the left of the turning place, beside hut number 4.
Looking towards the flag poles, from the Office, our camp site is down to the right.
Aim to arrive any time between 7pm and 8pm.

Africa Night

Great News! We managed to raise £500 to send to Imkerhof Children's home to help with medical care and secondary education. Thanks to everyone who helped and to all who were so generous!

Some of the children do not have a European sponsor ... I wonder if Libertyouth should think about sponsoring one of the children? Let me know what you think.

6th June ... Imkerhof Children's Home - Fund-raising Night

These children live in Namibia, in the Imkerhof Children's home. Probably, they have no mum or dad, because they have died from AIDS. They may even have AIDS themselves - (a lot of their friends do). They have nice clothes and look happy. That is because people like us have cared enough to send support (money) or actually go out and help at the home.
The children go to primary school at the home, but secondary education is expensive and they would have to live in town. Medical care is also too expensive for them. We want to help them. If you think you could help too, come and learn more on the 6th June, and you too might find yourself making a difference. Be a friend - don't look the other way!

Laserquest Youth Challenge - 31st May

Coming up ... hold onto your hats!
This Dunfermline inter-church youth event in Inzievar Woods is set to break all records for fun and competitive challenge! Will the teams have the leadership and teamwork skills to shoot the living daylights out of the opposition? Will they have the ability and 3-D vision to win through the tidal wave? Who will ace the mountain bike skills course? Just how will you communicate with the rest of your team on the opposite side of the stream, SILENTLY?

To find Inzievar Woods, click on the picture above.
Be there by 12.15pm
Pick up between 5.30 and 6pm
£2 per head for BBQ

They didn't do it to get "Brownie Points" - they just did it coz they wanted to make a difference! Well done!

o my feet o my feet o my feet!

Spread the word!

A fund-raising sponsored walk has been organised for Saturday 12th April - the last Saturday of the holidays! That means we have only 2 weeks to get sponsors ... what are you waiting for??

There will be a prize for the two people with the largest number of sponsors - (N.B. not the most money sponsored ... we are counting names not pounds! )

The June Fordell Firs Camp - Leadership Training and Teambuilding - will cost £35 to £40 pounds if you want to do fun stuff to the max! That means you need to get lots of sponsors. Sponsor forms available from Iain, in person or by e-mail.

If you want me to e-mail you a form, mail me : iain.mathie@gmail.com

Camp Planning

Well done everyone for making a start on this exciting project!

Here are your ideas for the programme:

Quad biking, archery, rock climbing / abseiling, low ropes course, bungee trampoline, assault course / challenge course, grass sledging, wigwams, crate climbing, team building, manhunt / night walk, wide games, orienteering, mountain biking, BBQ, caving, dry slope skiing, 10-pin bowling.

You also came up with some important ideas for the planning process:

Fund raising: sponsored cycle / swim; bag-packing; selling on e-bay;

Health & Safety: Andy can train us in the "Heart Start" First Aid course. Also need to think about hand hygeine, especially if preparing food.

Food: catering / cooking (should we provide food and cook for ourselves (backwoods cooking), or purchase food as a group and bring a cook??)

Accommodation: where will we sleep? Tents - where from? / cost? .... or the bunk house? How to arrange groups/ tents for sleeping?

Facilities: toilets, drying room, toilet paper!!!

Equipment: KIT LIST - what should we each bring for ourselves, and what should be provided to share? ... cooking utensils, camping gear, midge repellant, etc

RECCY - we need to send a team to scout out the site and report back. Also, visiting the website is a good idea - FORDELL FIRS

Duties / Teams: how should this be organised?

Well done everyone! :) This is a good start. I can't wait for this! Any more ideas? ... ... Try a post.
(I will allow anything that is constructive.)

What we believe:

Our faith is in God:

God is good

He loves each one of us personally

Jesus shows us His love through the cross

He wants us to be 100% committed to following him

He loves the whole world

We believe in:

CREATION

(though we’re not sure exactly how He did it …)

GOD’S PLAN

(Each of us is special; God has a good plan for our lives)

THE POWER OF PRAYER & THE HOLY SPIRIT

(God is here for us – trustworthy, dependable, and powerful. “With God’s help I can do anything.”)

MARRIAGE

(sex is best saved for it and kids are best raised in it!)

TRUTH

(the bible is full of it –living, relevant, life-changing)

RIGHT AND WRONG

(just because something may feel good doesn’t mean it’s OK)

As a Group, we hold to these

Values:

FAMILY FRIENDSHIP FORGIVENESS
